Grace City Church To Pay More Than $12k To Celebrate Easter At The Town Toyota Center
But TTC GM Mark Miller says that doesn't mean folks can violate their no firearms policy
Grace City Church will hold its 2024 Easter Sunday service at the Town Toyota Center in Wenatchee on March 31 – and pay more than $12,000 to do so.
But the church’s security team and members will not be allowed to bring weapons into the facility, General Manager Mark Miller said this week. The TTC has been a gun-free zone for as long as the public facility has been open and that policy is steadfast, he said.
“We’re not changing any policies of the arena for anyone,” Miller said. “A policy is a policy.”
But what is unclear is if GCC’s security team they call “The Watchmen” will be participating in the security duties on March 31.
In emails obtained through a public records request, Miller’s deputy Aaron Harvey acknowledged that the TTC’s “Operations Manager is already working with your security lead” in an exchange between him and GCC’s “pastor of finances” Kyle Strong. In an email prior to that, Strong asked Harvey if they could save money by handling parking and security themselves.
