Department of Education Opens Investigations into Wenatchee School District Over Columbia School Closure

The Office of Civil Rights opened the investigations because of the decision to close Columbia Elementary at the end of the last school year

The US Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights opened three investigations into the Wenatchee School District on October 11, WSD spokesperson Diana Haglund confirmed Friday.

The investigations stem from the district’s decision to close Columbia Elementary School at the end of the 2023-24 school year.
