Protestors gathered outside the Wenatchee Convention Center Tuesday where the NCW Tech Alliance’s 2026 “AI Expo” to protest data centers and artificial intelligence as well as the companies that sponsored the event.
Denali White, an activist with Wenatchee for Palestine and No Data Centers NCW, organized the protest and she explained why they were there.
“This AI Expo is sponsored by Microsoft and Sabey Corporation and a bunch of other kind of tech companies,” she said. “And we and this community have a lot of problems with these companies and with data centers and with AI. Sabey right now is trying to get a permit for 15 more diesel generators. They just applied. And there’s ecology is going to have a public hearing on that on August 18th.”
