Political Propaganda Hits Mailboxes Ahead of Public Education Funding Vote
Filled with falsehoods, unfounded claims and anonymous quotes, the mailer was produced by political activist Glenn Dobbs and may violate state election law
A day after ballots arrived and thirteen days before an election in which Wenatchee voters will approve or reject a replacement of an education and programs levy accounting for 12% of the Wenatchee School District’s annual budget, a new political mailer attacking Wenatchee public schools and administrators hit mailboxes.
The mailer, printed by The Wenatchee World’s sister company World Commercial Printing and titled “The Wenatchee Record,” was designed to look like a newspaper and was produced by Chelan-based political activist and former state legislator Glenn Dobbs.
It’s the second edition of Dobbs’ mailer and in it, he claims that Wenatchee School District Communications Director Diana Haglund asked The Wenatchee World to “censure” negative news about the district after the first edition in November 2023.

In his most recent mailer, Dobbs also claims that boys are allowed in the girls locker rooms in Wenatchee schools and that the NCW Libraries administrators have had the American flag removed from public libraries and replaced with the Pride flag.
“In most libraries across the district, the American flag has been taken down and replaced with the colorfully striped Gay Pride flag,” Dobbs wrote.
That’s false, library spokesperson Amanda Brack said Thursday. No American flags have been removed from any NCW Libraries branch.
Quoting anonymous sources, Dobbs also makes multiple comparisons between what he calls “government schools” and Grace City Church’s new private school in Wenatchee, Garden City Academy.
