Talking Grace City Church's Fundraising and Building Projects on La Pera Radio
$4.5 million raised for "Lift Off" in six months, and an in-house construction firm
Last week on our bilingual segment on La Pera Radio, radio host and reporter Rafael Aguilar and I spoke about Grace City Church’s building projects, including founding pastor Josh McPherson’s large home which was built, in no small part, by volunteers with donated materials. You can read about that in detail here.
We also spoke about the $4.5 million the organization raised in the last six months to fund “Phase 3” of the “Lift Off” building project on their 13-acre compound in Sunnyslope. You can listen to the full podcast episode via La Pera here.
My source on that fundraising number is Pastor Josh McPherson, in this video of his sermon on Nov. 22, 2021 titled “Jesus, Wealth and How to Get to Heaven” at about an hour and eight minutes in.
Rafael and I also spoke about their “in-house construction company” one ex member told me to take a look at. That company, Kingdom Builders Incorporated, has a “unique partnership” with GCC, according to the leaders on page 15 of a marketing booklet for Lift Off.
“As a newly-founded commercial construction company, their goal is to build the Kingdom through providing superior construction services at wholesale costs to Grace City Church… essentially donating their profit to our church.”
I’ll cover that marketing booklet in depth and take a deeper look at Kingdom Builders Incorporated in a future post.
But that will have to wait until after Christmas. I’m going to take this Sunday off, but will be posting a new piece for subscribers before the new year.
Have a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy holiday season.
I’m not seeing a contractors license for Kingdom Builders Inc in the area. Concerned.
