Grace City Church Pastor Josh McPherson preaching on Sunday, May 13 in Wenatchee, Wa.

In a Mother’s Day sermon focused on sex within marriage, Grace City Church Pastor Josh McPherson echoed his mentors Mark Driscoll and Doug Wilson by emphasizing that a wife’s body belongs to her husband.

He also shared some thoughts on Taylor Swift and advice for the unmarried women in the crowd.

“More guys would care about getting married if more girls were like: ‘Nope, put a ring on it,’” he said.

When sex is “free and easy” young men don’t have a reason to marry, he said.

“Let’s be honest, one of the payoffs and the benefits to young men to take that risk is the gift that the wife gives them of her body.”

McPherson also echoed his friend and mentor Mark Driscoll and said Taylor Swift is being driven by a “demonic Jezebel spirit.” Driscoll made national news last month after he was kicked off stage at a Stronger Men conference in Missouri for calling one of the opening acts a “Jezebel spirit.”
