So Goehner, Steele and Hawkins are all in with "Don't Mess With Our Kids", a group that, according to Aaron Hedge (Range Media - 11/6/2023) "Don’t Mess With Our Kids advocates for requiring that school employees be barred from talking about sexual orientation, requiring that schools inform parents if their kids begin to use different pronouns at school and a full abortion ban at any stage of pregnancy, among other demands." Well, that would not be a surprise but I would love it if each of these local pols were forced to make a public statement about their stance on those views. Maybe I need to take some anti-nausea medicine and go to one of their public campaign events and put that question to them. On the bright side, with the new District 12 boundaries and a Snohomish Democrat candidate, Jim Mayhew, for State Senate versus Goehner I finally have at least one candidate to vote for in District 12. I hope more west-side Democrats run for state house so I have fewer blanks on my ballot. Need some better options for Chelan County Commissioner to file this year.
