I stayed in Chelan to protest. I was the only one that showed up. My sign read: Where Law Ends - Tyranny Begins. This phrase is carved on the DOJ building in DC. The flip side said: Trump & Elon are playing Zero Sum Games with our lives. For the most part I didn't get a lot of extreme negative reactions, and a few positive. A couple of people stopped to talk who were in favor of what I was doing. I considered coming to Wenatchee, but wanted my community to be aware even if I was solo.

None of these cuts are in our best interests.

I retired from the Forest Service after 30 years of service- protected the land, served the people. In the last few days, not only did the agency lose a whole generation of talent, they also lost many seasoned experts whom were promoted and therefore where in a "probationary" period. This has affected our entire country. I am alarmed that our own government targeted government employees with no true intent nor regard for unintended consequences. I am saddened to watch people take to social media in mass, neither caring about others, community, or country. This is just a small piece of the pie.

Thanks Dominick- for showing up and spreading the word.

My dad worked for the USFS. We never went on summer vacation b/c he was always on call for forest fires. He loved that though. I was so proud of the work he did. We moved several times during his career in eastern WA & OR. Our last move landed us in Omak, before the Okanogan & Wenatchee National Forests were merged. Had the privilege of living at the Early Winters Ranger Station near Mazama as a kid. I didn't get the job b/c of my dad, but I worked the Tunk Mtn Lookout near Tonasket (Dept of Natural Resources) for 4 summers. I earned enough to pay for my university education. Best job ever - getting paid to look out the window at some of the landscapes I love the most.
