How Bill Sullivan, an anti-science person, got on the advisory board of the health district, a group that should be founded in science, is simply beyond me.
Thank you for this, Dominick. From this distance, (I live out-of-state now) it appears that since the Wenatchee World was sold it has fallen into confusion and neglect - who is minding the store? Wilfred must be tossing in his grave.
The actions, bias and misinformation from the extremists of the right gives me a stomach ache. Some of them who claim to be Christians in order to manipulate and influence citizens are just ignorant of their own religious origins or simply rationalize their lies to themselves. In no way do they represent the message of Jesus. And that is perhaps the worst thing about it all.
Thx for staying on this Dominick! Its this kind of behavior and the World's inability to conduct real investigative reporting that moved me to end my subscription over a year ago.
I have been torn about continuing my subscription to The World because I want to support local journalism. The sad thing is that The Wenatchee World is now mostly a compilation of journalism produced by other newspapers and sources. They barely report on anything local beyond puff pieces, sports and obituaries. Prime example, Semi Bird allegedly made threats against another republican at the August 16 meeting of the Washington State Republican Party at the Wenatchee Convention Center. It shook up the Pierce County republican threatened by Bird so much that they made a 911 call about the threat. How do I know? It was reported by the Tri-City Herald (updated August 24). The Wenatchee World? Not a peep out of our local "newspaper" that somehow can't cover news of things happening in Wenatchee.
Yes, very concerning. The fact that Wick’s CEO promised better and then could not give a definitive answer to Haglund is mind blowing. Did this just fall off someone's "to-do" list? And of course publishing B. Sullivan's complaint......

I so grateful for your attentive reporting.
Thanks for keeping your eye on the ball of the public trust, Dom!
Love your work. Thank you.

Thanks for the real journalism, Dominick. Hard to call the World a newspaper. This is one of the worst messes yet.
Once again...thank you for what you are doing to keep the community informed. It is crucial work! Keep it up!
